Topic Subject : Cold Casting Demonstrations |
|
There have been a number of recent postings concerning cold casting. I remembered a recent article I wrote that I thought might be helpful to those unfamiliar with the technique.
I have just uploaded it to the ALI Library. It describes simple cold casting techniques in metal, faux glass and wood. It is a surprisingly easy demonstration on duplicating a wide variety of antique hardware. However, its applications can be applied to any life casting work to provide the artist with a new form for his portfolio of skills.
Be advised though this was written for the Ace Hardware franchisees, the demonstration uses our products to create all of the examples. So if you are a little shy when it comes to a reading a commercially biased article it may not be your cup of tea. However, it is loaded with practical applications and it is an easy read with plenty of graphics.
By the way the ALI Library now has over 40 articles on life casting, mold making and casting - almost 1000 pages of material that can be found nowhere else. For those posting technique questions on the forum you might want to check the library first for a fuller explanation to your inquiry. Many articles include step-by-step photos. I am not discouraging your forum questions – just suggesting that more complete answers are usually found in the ALI Library.
