------------Silica-Free & Oh So GREEN------->

NEW! MoldGel SILFREE. A revolutionary formula.
Made with all food-grade ingredients. It nourishes
the earth when discarded. 3-to-1 mix ratio yields
twice the volume as those 1-to-1 brands. Delayed
shrinkage for delayed casting - so creamy smooth, too.

> I'm a brand new lifecaster and I am working on perfecting babies and
childrens little hands and feet.. I am trying to start up a small business
in my small town and was hoping some of you had and tips and or favorite
sites to purchase the alginates and casting stone. Are some easier to use
than others? Right now I am working with Lifecast casting stone and
alginate. I am also looking for display shadowboxes in bulk, possibly at
whole sale prices. I also was hoping you could steer me in the right
direction for a sealant / paint. Any particular favorite that is easy to
work with and shows all the detail. Some of the ones I've tried cover up and
take away some detail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in
advance.

> Hi michelle, first of all it depends where you are as my info may be
useless to you if your in another country or too far away from my
wholesaler. I currently use a wholesaler for all of my materials including
shadow boxes. I use gesso to seal, i wait 4 weeks at least until i do this

then couple of coats of paint. Im in the process of tryign different
techniques of applying paint ie air brush etc, this has been the best so far
with keeping the detail. Some other people may have some helpful hints for
you though aswell. Try everything! I havnt quite cracked a silver paint that
i am happy with yet, the gold paint that i use is oil based and is great
dosnt leave brush marks and can be applied with a paint brush. Its called
gold leaf, i think its the closest paint colour that comes to the real gold
leaf colour. Let me know where you are and if i can help you anymore then i
will. Ali
