Topic Subject : Re: Re: Re: opinions encouraged

I want to thank Dan and Clay both for the very thoughtfull comments.
I should have given some more information and so now I shall do that. I am a full time architecture student in Florida and so my art experience is mostly in drawing, abstract sculpture ,furniture building and all types of architectural model building.

The exact process I used to make the piece shown was that I did use the plaster bandages to form the initial mold and yes as clay noticed it did collaps and deform during the pouring of real plaster into the mold. This is most evident in the left side where you can see where the fold happened. Also the right breast collapsed entierly. I used some of my sculpting ability to try to mend the flattened area.

I think the idea of applying an additional layer of real plaster would prevent that and want to thank Clay for the input. I definatly understand the danger of an unexperienced person working with plaster and such so I have gone to some demonstrations for simple bodycastings such as pregnant belly casting and others including erotic art festivities in Sarasota and Tampa. I very much want to learn more and develope a style of my own by learning for all of you.

I can assure everyone that safety is alway the priority.

Again Thank you for the comments.
George
