Topic Subject : Re: Re: Re: Eyes & Straws

I would never put straws in the nostrils since the lightest touch
would make me, anyway, sneeze. It should be perfectly sufficient to
carefully place your algy / my plaster on the nostril just shy of
blocking air flow.
I read that Duane Hansen cast the eyes open. Since we have to blink
so often i don't know how. Willa Shalit's open eyes are not carefully
sculpted.
The sculpting of opened eyes..
We are sculptors, more or less, and should become proficient at
adding and carving plaster to get what we want. You might begin by
taking a couple of decently lit photos of the model's eyes, open and
shut. Guy Louis XVI is the master at face sculpting (he's not a
lifecaster, actually.) Once you resculpt the eyelid as open, you need
to figure what you want the eyeball to look like. Plain Orphan Annie
blank? A cone-shaped hole as in classical work? Red LEDs? You're the
artist!
Rotating table.. there was a YouTube by SmoothOn, i think, using one
but they admitted to me it was tilted to salvage a botch-job. Or they
thought they'd apply algy in the vertical and apply plaster gauze in
the horizontal, which is dumb because the algy will slump along with
the body from gravity.
