Dan, this is really fun but I have two life castings to do tomorrow plus an interview with a local magazine and have to get to bed.
However, there is a neat little trick one can do with Adobe or Photoshop. Have the model hold his/her head perfectly still and take a photo with the eyes open AND closed. Then superimpose the two and you can see exactly where the eyelid is when open verses closed. This is a really big help.
Guy and I are pretty good friends. I get to Ottawa ever so often in my corporate pilot part time other life. I have even written an article on him which may be in the ALI Library or will be soon. Guy is actually an excellent life caster. I watched him do an FX style life casting of a head in the round at his studio. However he is capable of sculpting to such detail that anyone would suspect that it had been life cast.
Good night,
Dave
