Topic Subject : Re: support shell

Nguyen

I have successfully cast a lower torso wearing cutoff jeans.?

Two tricks:?

1.? Soak the clothes in cheap vegetable?oil (not olive oil) first, then have the model put the clothes on.
2.? Whatever size the model says she wears, go to at least one size smaller.? If you don't, the weight of the oil and of the alginate will make the shorts or bikini?sag on the torso, and the finished product will not look right.

Best of luck

------------Silica-Free & Oh So GREEN------->

NEW! MoldGel SILFREE. A revolutionary formula.
Made with all food-grade ingredients. It nourishes
the earth when discarded. 3-to-1 mix ratio yields
twice the volume as those 1-to-1 brands. Delayed
shrinkage for delayed casting - so creamy smooth, too.

support shell:--
hello, newbies here. just tried my first lower torso casting today needless to say it din't come out as expected. the casting came out very distorded. i use 3 layer of plaster bandages for the support shell. i don't think that was enough. my question is how many layer are you suppose to use and how long do you let it dry before taking it off the model. also has anyone cast a model with clothes on like a bikini. do you use vasiline on the fabric so it won't stick to the alginates or bodydouble silicone.any help is appreciated.
