Thank you so much for so much information. I know what you mean about being able to judge required amounts from experience. I remember my grandother making pastry, never a scale in sight but always perfect!
I will do the testing of the alginate as you do. I didn't realise that alginate could differ so much, but thinking about it it makes sense.
I am going to do the life casting tommorrow. When it is finished( to my satisfaction) I will post a photo.
