Topic Subject : Lifecasting Insurance for small USA company |
|
Hi all,
I run a small 3d scanning business that takes lifecasts of models and digitizes them at very high resolution to capture pores, wrinkles, scars and blemishes for use in digital art.
Thus far, I've been scanning friends, but my business has been growing quickly, and I'm now looking to get insurance so I can scan professional models.
I am in the USA. I use Smooth-on Body Double, and am familiar with waivers and model releases, but these (as I understand it) do not protect me legally, and therefore I require liability insurance to go any further.
Having searched through these forums, there doesn't seem to be any solid advice on which insurance companies will cover a lifecaster. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Have there been any efforts to band together to get a deal with insurance companies?
Surely there's similar professions that are close to lifecasting, makeup artistry? Prosthetics? Special Effects artists? I assume these professions have liability insurance.
Any help would be hugely appreciated!
