Topic Subject : Re: Re: Re: full wrap around torso casting

Gentlemen,
again I must revert to some of the articles written by Dave Parvin. If you get his DVD that discusses lifecasting he explaiins that if you want to bond the alginate securely to the mother mold, use cheesecloth that is embedded into the alginate. You can do this by using Algislow which lets you embed the first layer of cheesecloth into the alginate thus allowing the plaster to bond to this layer. This then locks the 2 together. you then just add progressive layers of cheesecloth and plaster until you achieve the thickness you want, usually just 2 or 3 layers as it starts to become too heavy and the alginate is starting to pull away from the model. After you have te mold off you can reinforce it as desired. Contact Dave Parvin at his office and he will be happy to direct you down the right path. I have used his techiques very successfully and with great results.

Good Luck!!!
