Hi Adi,
I've found the alginate sold by Tiranti (www.tirnati.co.uk) is the nicest to work with. Their 'Normal Set' (which is actually the faster setting) is blue. For larger moulds such as torsos you will probably want to use their 'Slow Set' which is actually white.
