The blue alginate you see the Brits using is most probably Tiranti's
normal set alginate. They do a slow set version too which gives you
a couple of extra minutes, very useful for doing larger casts. I also
recommend getting some Algislo from Mouldlife over here in the UK -
it's pricey having been imported from the USA, but it's really worth
it and one bottle lasts ages. It just takes the stress out of doing
larger, more complex casts. It's not essential, but it really helps
make casting more pleasurable for me as I don't have to flap about in
such a hurry any more and can control my setting times better.
