I have no knowledge of earthium but it sounds like you did not mix
your plaster/water well. It only hardens right if mixed vigorously. I
use a nylon potato masher. Presumably you must also mix earthium
well. If it didn't work as they claimed, shame on them. A reputable
co. will replace material that did not work as advertised.
