The problem is the forum software doesn't return the page until all emails have been sent. With a large list (and some out of office replies), this can take a long time.
Two ways to fix this are 1) Allow the page to draw before all emails are sent, and/or 2) While waiting, tell the user NOT to hit submit again.
It would be very nice to make one or both of these changes to the forum. It's *so* easy these days to start a new yahoo or google group, that it's probably worth doing.
