Topic Subject : Re: A new topic has been added-RE: A new topic has been added-Sticking alginate

Hi every body as many of you know I use nivea as a release for my
lifecasting it works for me its safe from the hairiest people to the
smoothest and smooth can stick too .
More recently a seventy year old woman full body to a six year old girl
full body there are other releases out there that work ,I just find nivia
fills all my needs I even use it on hair to slick it down for head casts but
it must be toweled out afterwoulds
I have been life casting for some 30 yrs and it has never let me down
application is up to you for lifecasts using plaster bandage a very liberal
coating, for alginate lifecasts depending on hair I apply well then towell
off

if hairy I make sure the hair is smoothed flat then apply alginate in the
same driection and dont rub it against the the lye of the hair
this is of course my preference ,I use this in my very day job in the film
on the worlds top actors .
Go safley

> Baby oil will not cause the alginate to simply slide off. Just a thin film
> applied to the model is required to allow easy removal of the mother mold.
