Wow, I have to say I've never had that much trouble with alginate. Rather than baby oil, try a hand cream or lotion instead. I usuallt don't use anything as a release with alginate.

Sticking alginate:--
Help me please on the last two casts I have taken the alginate has stuck to the
models skin so much that it tears and turns inside out when I try to remove the
mould, if I get the model to apply baby oil first will the alginate stay in
place or just slide off onto the floor?any advice please as this is getting
frustrating as I dont like to waste the models time not to mention the cost
involved with alginate and plaster
